Bunker Shield (•• or ••••)

Bunker Shield (•• or ••••)

The bunker shield is normally a smaller, turtle shell of a shield that straps onto one arm. In it’s smaller form it functions as a Small Shield. When it is activated and focused on, it changes size and shape becoming a veritable wall of a shield. It changes to a Tower Shield, with a size of 5. While it’s deployed it cannot be moved. But it can function as a defensive wall for a few changelings. When purchased at 4 dots, it can be deployed or withdrawn as a reflexive action.

Catch: The user is fighting an impossibly strong enemy and is attempting to protect their allies from a fatal AoE attack, such as a dragon breathing fire.

Drawback: While the bunker is active, the Lost who activated suffers the Arm Wrack tilt on the arm the shield is equipped with and the effects of the Leg Wrack tilt as they are burying the effective weight of the bunker shield, as they move away from it. These tilts only go away when they deactivate the Bunker Shield, if the shield is destroyed while deployed these become permanent.

The Eye-Catcher (•)

A ring with a round cabochon stone that catches the light easily, throwing prisms of it around. To activate the effects the owner must blow their breath over the stone and tell someone in the scene how they are truly feeling in that moment. Any light reflected from the cabochon then will point in the direction of a target’s truest desire in that moment.

Catch: The user must say truthfully what she is feeling.

Drawback: Receive the Leveraged Condition for one scene. If the condition is used to gain information on the character, take a beat.

Hallucinatory Dreamcoat (••)

Effects: 9-Again on Athletics, Stealth, & Survival (2 dot rating states that it can grant 9-again to multiple skills with no upward cap)

Loophole: Conceal yourself from the prying eyes of the Fae without magical assistance

Mien: This tattered and hedge fruit strained straitjacket wraps around the lost more like a hoodie or a bomber jacket than the snug fit of its original design. It’s mottled colors and and and fastenings blend all too naturally into the Hedge and anywhere else when active, making it easier to navigate and more importantly escape the Hedge when you’re on or off the beaten paths.

Mask: A hooded jacket of variable hue with broken fastenings that are primed to bite if you’re not careful.

A single earring, a small tear shaped diamond pendant hangs from it. Whenever the owner flicks the tear with a finger, it chimes a very quiet, sad tune, as it reverberates the emotions around. Offer the 9 again effect for Empathy rolls.

Catch: The user must state their intention towards anyone she tries to understand.

Drawback: The next time the user rolls for subterfuge they must do so at a disadvantage equal to their successes on the empathy roll. If they have no dice to roll, take a beat.

The Lunarian (••)

The Lunarian (••)

Credit: Sharlo This dao of brilliant silver is said to be constructed with metal from the moon – or at least that’s what the legends claim. The hilt is inlaid with moonstones and supple leather, providing a stylish, yet comfortable grip. Whoever yields it in combat is said to be unbeatable, which contrasts with the history of the last owner… The target of the Lunarian suffers a lunacy induced trance represented by the Drugged Tilt from the extra sparkling moonstones in the hilt. Targets that are blind or otherwise lack vision are immune to this effect. It has the base stats of a machete. Catch: The user must declare what part of their target they are aiming to hit or maim. Drawback: If the user fails to hit the target in the declared way, they suffer the Token’s weapon modifier in lethal damage instead, as the proud sword punishes them for yielding it poorly (take a beat if that happens).

Waspshot

Waspshot

Credit: Updated for 2e by Sharlo

To make Waspshot, a character needs an empty shell casing, eight wasp wings (from the Hedge), and a dab of wax. She puts the wings in the casing, then seals it with the wax. This bullet allows for a character to completely ignore penalties caused by a target under concealment or cover (see pp. 162–163, the World of Darkness Rulebook). The Waspshot bullet goes clean through any cover regardless of the cover’s Durability, and “finds” its target like a wasp.
