The Society Of Mutes

Who They Are

Run by a woman who offers services as a professional Mourner and works with the local funeral homes attending most empty funerals for those with no one else left to remember them.They work together the stories of those invisible or endangered by wider society and work to preserve their memory. Associated as well with the Gaumond Trust and Lady Gaumond’s Home for Wayward Youth.

Dot 1: You are a member of the society and as such can usually find someone able to help you perform Ceremonies you have. You also have access to learn new ones form your Society, As part of this you may take two dots in Ceremonies, one of which must be in archetype.

Dot 2: Gain 1 dot in Contacts “Society of Mutes” 

Dot 3: If mundane Gain the Medium Merit (CofD 57) even if not meeting the Empathy requirement; If member already has Medium or is otherwise Supernatural gain 3 dots of Resources as you are given access to Gaumond Trust to fund your mourning work. 

Dot 4: Once per chapter use the Society Library and researchers to gain a +3 equipment bonus and exceptional success on 3 successes to occult research projects.

Dot 5: Gain Allies 5: Society of Mutes, Once per Chapter you may change you can say “I read about that” to instantly gain the informed condition about a single target or event, you may also be given new information by the ST team when you do this.

The Masonic Order of the Pit

Who They Are

The Masonic Order of the Pit has a few things going for it. Age being one of them, the Masonic Order has existed in one way shape or form for centuries. The men and women of the Masonic Order tend to take their job seriously. They are the current “Leaders” of the Council of Gates as they helped to rebuild it, hand selecting the first Krewes to invite. It’s original leader at that time went into the underworld recently and simply never came back leading to Sarah taking control. As Furies the Krewe tends to be somewhat violent, Father Alexander preaches the divine justice of the Pit and teaches those new members how injustice is everywhere but they’re in the distinct and glorious position to correct the injustices around them. Their second chance is one that grants them a fury that even God cannot fathom, in the good father’s words. Rumor has it that they’re all somewhat religious but to what is a mystery.

Dot 1: You are a member of the society and as such can usually find someone able to help you perform Ceremonies you have. You also have access to learn new ones form your Society, As part of this you may take two dots in Ceremonies, one of which must be in archetype.

Dot 2: Gain 1 dot in Contacts “Masonic Order of the Pit”.

Dot 3: If mundane Gain the Medium Merit (CofD 57) even if not meeting the Empathy requirement; If member already has Medium or is otherwise Supernatural gain 3 dots of a Fighting Style of your choice as Father Alexander or one of the many other members teach you the more visceral way to correct Injustice

Dot 4: Your character now has access to the Masonic Order’s armory allowing you to once per chapter get a piece of equipment or weapon cost Resources 4. At this point your character has seen The Pit.

Dot 5: Gain Allies: 5 The Masonic Order of the Pit. You’re most likely one of Sarah’s trusted advisors or someone with a solid reputation. Once per chapter you can call on “The Pit’s Blessing” and for the scene you get a +3 bonus on Melee, Brawl, Firearms, or Athletics rolls based on your highest Combat stat, determined at time of using this benefit.

Department of Post-Mortem Services

Who They Are

Necropolitans get a bad rap, sure they throw parties and engage in the mortal side a bit much. Sure some people think they make light of death but that’s not the case and for the Department of Post-Mortem Services it certainly isn’t. While you can still expect some of the stereotypical things that Necropolitans are supposed to get up to, they’re not the worst out there. Sure Winston throws parties, for shareholders, employee’s, social groups, and even the occasional block party down in Fredericksburg. The group also tries to keep the community truly alive. Every year one or more companies owned by Winston help to endorse and fund Fredericksburg’s Pride Events. Every year they help fund the Christmas Parade in town, they make massive donations, build up the community, and in doing so remind people of life. They take care of cemeteries and tend to older buildings all to slowly build a world where the living and the dead can co-exist in harmony.

Dot 1: You are a member of the society and as such can usually find someone able to help you perform Ceremonies you have. You also have access to learn new ones form your Society, As part of this you may take two dots in Ceremonies, one of which must be in archetype.

Dot 2: Gain 1 dot in Contacts “The Department of Post-Mortem Services”.

Dot 3: If mundane Gain the Medium Merit (CofD 57) even if not meeting the Empathy requirement; If member already has Medium or is otherwise Supernatural gain 3 dots of Allies of their choice. The Department knows people, they are well connected and make sure their people are too. Please Note you may split these 3 dots up as you see fit.

Dot 4: At this level you have access to a lot of the Department’s resources and can quickly get jobs done. Once Per Chapter you may use your connections, resources, and various other benefits of being in the Department to grease the wheels giving you the rote action on a single social roll.

Dot 5: At this level you’re deep in the society now and most likely a VIP on Winstons list of folks to invite to parties. You get Allies: 5 in the Department and once per chapter you gain the benefit of 8-again and rote on all social rolls for a scene.

Lorelei, Mallory, and Mortimer

Who They Are

Death is a problem. The best way to solve that problem is to hit it before it happens. For the people of Lorelei, Mallory, and Mortimer, Attorneys at Law LLC, that means helping people near the end organize their life and their death. Sometimes they do it by simply helping their get their will organized, sometimes they step in to help finish something before it becomes unfinished business, and sometimes they’re there to read someone their last rites according to their culture or beliefs. They use their money and influence to try and fight the pull of the underworld by ensuring no one is left behind.

Dot 1: You are a member of the society and as such can usually find someone able to help you perform Ceremonies you have. You also have access to learn new ones form your Society, As part of this you may take two dots in Ceremonies, one of which must be in archetype.

Dot 2: Gain 1 dot in Contacts “The Department of Post-Mortem Services” 

Dot 3: If mundane Gain the Medium Merit (CofD 57) even if not meeting the Empathy requirement; If member already has Medium or is otherwise Supernatural gain 2 dot of Academics and a spec in “Estate Planning”. The Lawyers are well educated folk and they will teach their new people about the Underworld and it’s history.

Dot 4: At this level you’re trusted with access to the archives unsupervised. Due to this you are given the Library merit at 3. Your access means that you can get a +3 Bonus on all Occult rolls while using the Library’s resources.

Dot 5: You gain Allies: 5 in Lorelei, Mallory, and Mortimer and once per chapter you get access to a single Momento held within the vaults of the Lawfirm up to ST discretion, simply state what you want when the time comes.

The Coachmen

Who They Are

Death is inevitable and so is the Underworld. It has twists and turns that make passing into the afterlife confusing and often difficult. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Coachmen strive to pave a path of understanding through both worlds; Above and Below. The Coachman provide donations to various minority communities and localities while doing their best work in the Underworld to plot paths that provide a challenge to the denizens passing through, without making the journey impossible.

Dot 1: You are a member of the society and as such can usually find someone able to help you perform Ceremonies you have. You also have access to learn new ones form your Society, As part of this you may take two dots in Ceremonies, one of which must be in archetype.

Dot 2: Gain 1 dot in Contacts “The Coachmen”

Dot 3: If mundane Gain the Medium Merit (CofD 57) even if not meeting the Empathy requirement; If member already has Medium or is otherwise Supernatural gain 2 dot of Survival and a spec in “Gathering Essence”. The Pilgrims are used to long stretches of exploration and eking out succor when necessary.

Dot 4: At this level you’ve explored with the Pilgrims at length; when navigating the Underworld using Instinct, obtain an Exceptional Success with 3 successes instead of 5. This allows for the use of any skills or specialties, including asset skills that may grant 9-again.

Dot 5: Gain Allies 5: The Coachmen, Once per Chapter you may call upon the “Teamsters Blessing”. For the scene, gain a +3 bonus on Animal Ken, Athletics, Drive, or Survival; determined at the time of using this benefit.
